ORIGINAL DESIGN
Designed by CineGraphx, the original movie poster for “The Menu” (2022) lacks visual interest and does not properly highlight the film's complex narrative. In the film, a group of wealthy diners travels to a remote island to experience an exclusive culinary event. However, as the night unfolds, they discover that the meal is intertwined with dark secrets and unexpected twists, leading to a shocking climax that challenges their perceptions of art, privilege, and morality.
MY DESIGN
With this in mind, my final design captures the high-end yet dark atmosphere of the story. In a painterly style, culinary elements and small details hint at the plot twist. To stay true to the film's narrative, I referenced culinary imagery to intertwine the plot into a dish similar to those served to the characters.
